I am now on my 3rd unit, and have only had it TWO DAYS. It has already stopped working, and even though I can reset it's functionality, it is not worth doing every week... nor have I found it useful to call in the warranty, seeing as it has not solved the problem. To give you some background, I have one cat and when I first purchased this product I only had to empty/clean the waste box once a week. I am now having to check/reset it daily for malfunctions. I would advise those who are interested in this product to look elsewhere, based on my experience. At this point, if you are looking to decrease your work in cleaning your cat's litter box, I would not recommend this product--it'll only cause you more headache with having to either (1) reset the motor or (2) contact customer service for the warranty.
